SUMMERSTOWN – One person has been critically injured after an all-terrain vehicle crash on Airport Road Sunday.

SD&G O.P.P., South Glengarry firefighters and Cornwall-SDG Paramedic Services were called to a section of the road around the lunch hour.

A witness who lives in the area says an ATV struck a tree.

South Glengarry Fire Chief Dave Robertson tells Cornwall Newswatch firefighters from the Glen Walter station cared for one patient, who was taken away by paramedics with severe injuries.

Robertson said the injuries to the lone ATV rider were believed to be non-life threatening.

A section of the road between County Road 27 and Fraser Road was closed for about six-and-a-half hours Sunday afternoon.

Despite repeated attempts by Cornwall Newswatch, no one has been available from the O.P.P. to provide additional details such as the victim’s identity or the status of the investigation.
