CORNWALL – If you are a driver, it’s probably a week you want to see end.

For a second time, traffic will be disrupted on a portion of Brookdale Avenue.

It will be down to a single lane, starting at 8 a.m. (Friday), on the railway overpass, north of Tollgate Road.

Flagmen will be on either side of the bridge directing alternating traffic until 6 p.m. (Friday).

The lane closure will allow experts to do a bridge deck condition survey ahead of the rehabilitation project for the overpass.

Cornwall received $3 million last year from the Ontario Connecting Links program to fix up the bridge.

No doubt, this has been a week of headaches for motorists using the city’s busiest street.

On Wednesday, a section of Brookdale from Ninth to Thirteenth Street was shut down for the day to replace a broken water main.
