CORNWALL – Employees seem to really like working for a chemical company with operations in Cornwall.

BASF Canada has been named one of Canada’s 10 best manufacturing workplaces.

The analysis by Great Places to Work Canada is based on employee feedback.

BASF says 93 per cent of its workers felt it was a safe place to work, 90 per cent said they were proud to work and 85 per cent wanted to work for BASF for a long time.

The plant on Wallrich Avenue, which makes chemicals for handling and molding plastics, has 35 employees and has been in operation since 1953 (it was bought by BASF Canada in 1970).

The company was also named Canada’s Top 100 employers last year, based on a Mediacorp Canada Inc. evaluation.

BASF Canada has Canadian headquarters in Mississauga, Ont. and has 703 Canadian employees at 11 facilities, including Cornwall.
