CORNWALL – City police have made an arrest after security at the Cornwall Sears Outlet were threatened at gunpoint.
A man had attempted to steal merchandise from the Cornwall Square anchor store on Monday (May 15) and when he was confronted by a loss prevention officer, a gun was pointed, police said.
The suspect then fled.
Police had released still images from security camera footage and, after five days, police were able to locate the suspect and arrest him.
Caylum Woods, 18, of Cornwall is charged with theft, pointing a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, uttering threats and assault with a weapon.
He is also facing a charge of sexual assault in an unrelated case where a man is accused of inappropriately touching a 16-year-old girl in February.
Woods was held for a bail hearing.
