CORNWALL – A city man is facing a half dozen charges, including arson, after a basement fire at a First Street home earlier this month.

The fire on April 6 was linked to illegal drug activity, specifically the production of shatter, the Cornwall Community Police Service said Tuesday.

Police arrested Brandon Aubin, 24, of Cornwall on Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

He is facing two counts of arson and a single count each of mischief, production of cannabis resin, possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles) and possession of marijuana.

Aubin was held in custody for a bail hearing in a Cornwall court.

Police are still collecting information on this case and have asked anyone with information to call Det. Const. Ryan Campeau at 613-933-500 x2468 or 613-551-6537.
