MORRISBURG – A South Dundas woman has been charged after police say another woman had something added to her drink.
SD&G O.P.P. say the crime reportedly happened in February when a woman had ingested a “noxious substance” while drinking something.
Const. Joel Doiron told Cornwall Newswatch the victim and the accused are known to each other and described them as close friends. They were both at a home when the drugging happened.
The victim suffered “minor effects” from the event, police said. While the exact substance added to the drink because it’s court evidence, Doiron said it was from the “drug family.”
Following a police investigation, a 62-year-old South Dundas woman was arrested yesterday (April 6) and charged with “administering a noxious thing with intent to annoy.”
She will appear in a Morrisburg court May 2.
The O.P.P. did not release her name in order to protect the identity of the victim.
