Former River King between pipes for Nationals

CORNWALL – The FHL Cornwall Nationals have signed a former Cornwall River King to be their goalie.

Paul Bourbeau Junior, 24, from Montreal, Que. played with the now-defunct Cornwall team during the 2013-2014 season.

The 6-foot goaltender has played in the FHL before with the Berlin River Drivers for part of the 2015-2016 season.

Joining Nationals goalie Nicolas Delongchamps, the team believes it has one of the best goalie tandems in the FHL.

The Nationals play Friday night (Jan. 6) in Port Huron and are back home Saturday to welcome the River Drivers.

Backup goalie Bourbeau Junior may face his old team, the River Drivers, on Saturday.

Team spokesman Rodney Wilson told Cornwall Newswatch, both goaltenders are expected to be in the lineup but starters have not been announced as of today (Tuesday).
