Vehicles hit by flying truck wheel

SOUTH DUNDAS – Several motorists were hurt Tuesday after their vehicles were struck by a wheel from a tractor-trailer on Highway 401.

SD&G O.P.P. said the wheel came off a truck heading west on the highway, between County Road 31 and Flagg Road around 5 p.m.

Four vehicles were struck – both in the eastbound and westbound lanes. The injuries to the drivers are said to be minor in nature.

Police are still trying to locate the truck and the driver, who continued on without stopping.
