CORNWALL – The city’s core budget committee will buckle down in mid-November for three days of budget meetings.

Members of the committee agreed Monday afternoon during the steering committee meeting to meet all day on Nov. 14, Nov. 16 and Nov. 18 – all meetings starting at 9 a.m. at city hall.

The committee also saw its first runoff for the position of chairman against Coun. Denis Carr and Coun. Bernadette Clement.

In a secret ballot, Carr was chosen to lead the committee through 2017 budget talks.

Clement was subsequently chosen as vice chairman of the budget steering committee.

A special meeting for the 2017 water and sewer budget will be held Nov. 7, 2016 at 6 p.m.

This was also the first budget for newly appointed CFO Tracey Bailey.
