McMaze closing operations

SOUTH STORMONT – After 16 seasons, the owners of McMaze are winding down their attraction for good at the end of the month.

“After 16 seasons of Getting Lost and Having Fun, we have made a very tough decision that this will be our final season open,” the McDonald family said in a Facebook posting Saturday.

“We are looking forward to the next adventure for our family. We wish to thank all of our customers and supporters over the last 16 years.”

The award-winning attraction, which spans four acres, will be open seven days a week until Halloween, depending on the weather.

The hours are 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Sundays and Thanksgiving Monday.

The family-owned fun farm on Willy Allen Road near St. Andrews West is one of three finalists for the Top Outdoor Attraction in Ontario with the final decision to be announced Nov. 22, 2016.

The McDonald family was also named an Ontario Farm Family on Sept. 26, 2016 by the Bank of Montreal at the International Plowing Match and Rural Expo in Minto, Ont.
