SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Federal Hockey League has formally approved the expansion Cornwall Nationals hockey team.
In a news release Friday, the league said the membership had been awarded to Mitch Gagne and Rodney Rivette.
“We welcome the Cornwall, Ontario market as our only Canadian membership and are excited to branch out into the north,” FHL Commission Don Kirnan said.
Kirnan said the Gagne and Rivette had “done a terrific job in the off season including securing season ticket and corporate partnership commitments.”
A news conference is being held tomorrow (Saturday) at 5 p.m. at the Cornwall Civic Complex to announce the ownership group and show off the jerseys and new logo.
