Update 11:59 p.m. Tuesday: The rainfall warning has ended.
SD&G – A deluge of rain, associated with a storm system from the Gulf of Mexico, is expected to hit our region later today.
Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for the area as 40-60 millimeters (1.57-2.36 inches) is likely to fall.
A rainfall warning is issued when 50 millimeters (1.96 inches) of rain or more is expected within one hour.
The rain is expected to start this afternoon and continue through the night before tapering off on Wednesday morning.
Environment Canada says that heavy downpours, causing flash flooding and localized flooding, is possible.
