CORNWALL – With a few weeks to go before the upcoming hockey season, the Cornwall River Kings have added three players to their front lines.

The LNAH team has signed Erick Lizon, Ahmed Mahfouz and Ryan Hand.

“We’ve improved our hockey club dramatically this summer,” GM Rick Lalonde said. “And with the addition of Lizon, Mahfouz and Hand, we will be among the toughest teams in the LNAH.”

Head coach Bob Dejardins describes the signings as “huge for our hockey club.”

Heavyweight forward Erick Lizon, 30, from Kitchener played the previous two seasons with the Wichita Thunder in the ECHL.

Mahfouz, 27, from Ottawa, played in the Federal Hockey League the last six seasons and also has a local connection having won a championship with the Akwesasne Thunder in 2011.

Hand, 31, was acquired in a deal with Thetford Assurancia.
