Two arrested in Cornwall armed robbery

CORNWALL – Two Cornwallites have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery of a store on Second Street East last week.

Cornwall police said the man went to the store early Friday morning (July 22) and – while his face was covered – pulled a knife and demanded cash from the clerk.

It was a scary situation for people nearby, as police said bystanders were threatened with the knife before the suspect fled with a woman.

A vehicle spotted at the scene was later seen by police officers around Bryden Avenue, while they were responding to the robbery.

Police stopped the car and arrested the two suspects.

Stolen clothing was also found in the vehicle.

Bradley Mondoux, 22, is facing charges of disguise with intent, robbery with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation.

Shelley Champagne, 43, is charged with robbery with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime. Champagne was also charged with possession of a stolen motorcycle, in connection with a separate investigation.

Both were held for a bail hearing in a Cornwall court.
