More sex charges against former teacher from Morrisburg

OTTAWA – A former teacher from Morrisburg is facing more sexual assault related charges in Ottawa.

The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section announced late Friday morning (July 8) that Robert Clarke, 72, is facing seven more charges.

Those are four counts of gross indecency, two counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual exploitation.

Four victims have come forward since an initial charge was laid last month.

Investigators have been probing assaults that are said to have occurred between 1973 and 1992 when Clarke was a teacher with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.

In the middle of June, Clarke was charged with one count of sexual assault.

A male student filed a complaint that he had been inappropriately touched.

Police believe there may be more victims.

Clarke will appear in an Ottawa court Aug. 22, 2016.
