CORNWALL – The city’s chief financial officer (CFO) has been promoted to the role of chief administrative officer (CAO).

The city announced today that Maureen Adams, who has overseen the finance department for eight years, will take her new position May 2, 2016.

She is replacing the retiring Norm Levac.

“I am really excited by this new opportunity to work alongside the mayor and council and build Cornwall into an even greater city,” Adams said. “We have a lot of great attributes and I’m looking forward to working with council, city staff and community partners to build on our strengths.”

Mayor Leslie O’Shaughnessy said a thorough search was conducted for a top administrator and they “are pleased with the result.”
