MONKLAND – A gas thief went to great lengths not to be identified after stealing gas from the Monkland Esso Monday.

SD&G O.P.P. say it happened around 4:30 p..m. when a man pulled up to the Highway 138 station in a forest green 1997-2003 Pontiac Grand Prix and fueled up.

“The plates were covered with plastic bags,” said police.

The car has a rear spoiler and a sun roof.

The suspect then drove away without paying.

This is not the first time the gas station has been victimized as police say a similar act happened just over a week ago (April 9, 2016).

The man is described as roughly 5-feet-10 inches tall, with a medium build and scruffy facial hair. He was wearing a camo baseball cap with aviator sunglasses with red tinted lenses.

If you have any information you’re asked to call O.P.P. at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
