South Dundas man ID’ed as ATV rider killed in CR16 crash

SOUTH MOUNTAIN – Provincial police have identified an all-terrain vehicle rider killed in a collision with a tractor trailer on County Road 16 in North Dundas.

Police say Bradley Tinkler, 42, of South Dundas (earlier reported by police as North Dundas) died when his machine collided head-on with the truck on the highway, also known as Brinston Road, around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

SD&G O.P.P. also corrected the direction of travel of both vehicles from their earlier report – the ATV was heading south while the truck was heading north.

Tinkler died at the scene.

The driver of the tractor trailer, a 39-year-old man from Ottawa, was not hurt.

O.P.P. say alcohol and speed are being considered as factors in the crash.

Charges are not expected.

A section of County Road 16 between County Road 3 and Sandy Row Road was closed for nearly eight hours for a police investigation.
