WAKEFIELD, Que. – A former counsellor at a Tim Hortons camp, northeast of Arnprior, is facing sex-related charges in connection to alleged assaults on young children over a decade ago.
Quebec police in the Pontiac region have shared details of the investigation with Ontario Provincial Police in Eastern Ontario, believing there may be other victims that went to Camp des Voyageurs Tim Horton in Quyon, Que.
The sexual assaults are said to have happened in the summer of 2005 and 2006 when the victims would have been in their pre-teens.
David-Francis Bursey of Outaouais, Que. was a camp counsellor between 2004 and 2006.
The Outaouais police criminal investigations branch has uncovered “two distinct incidents” of sexual contact involving children who were 10 and 12 at the time.
From certain elements of the investigation, they believe there are other victims.
Bursey also lived in the Ottawa-Gatineau region from 2009 to 2013 before leaving to Alberta, where he is living now.
Bursey, 32, was arrested Monday, March 21, 2016 and charged with sexual contact and invitation to sexual contact with children.
