SD&G – Political leaders from across SD&G are in Toronto for the next two days for one of the biggest Ontario municipal conferences.

The Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA) and Ontario Good Roads Association (OGRA) conferences are being held together at the Fairmont hotel in Toronto.

SD&G County Warden Jamie MacDonald said all the mayors and deputy mayors, who make up county council, are there.

MacDonald, also a member of the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus, said the caucus will be meeting during the conference to speak about issues affecting the region and Eastern Ontario.

The warden also had a sit-down meeting with Transportation Minister Stephen Del Duca to speak about safety issues with Highway 138.

From Cornwall, Mayor Leslie O’Shaughnessy, CAO Norm Levac and Coun. Justin Towndale are attending.
