ALEXANDRIA – Two men from Quebec are facing criminal charges after an Alexandria business was targeted by fraudsters.
SD&G O.P.P. say two men went into the business around noon Thursday and one of the suspects had given an employee documents, pretending to be somebody else, in order to receive services.
Police officers later intercepted a vehicle on County Road 34 and arrested two men.
They also seized fraudulent documents, which included a credit card.
A 49-year-old man from Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que. is charged with possessing forged documents, attempting to commit an indictable offence and 15 counts of failing to comply with previous court conditions.
The second man – a 57-year-old from Montreal – is charged with forging a credit card, impersonation and fraudulently possessing identity documents.
