SD&G – A winter storm watch has been upgraded to a winter storm warning for the region.
According to Environment Canada, the storm system heading this way from Texas will push into the Great Lakes region late Monday night into Tuesday morning.
The system is expected to bring 20-35 centimeters (8-14 inches) of snow with it.
It will also be windy causing blowing snow at time and near zero visibility, the weather agency said.
The snow is not expected to taper off until Tuesday afternoon.
Officials have eased up on their suggestion to avoid travelling, now saying late Monday morning that the conditions could “contribute to transportation delays.”
