MORRISBURG – It seems people are still getting in the Christmas spirit despite the mild weather.

In its 15th season, Alight at Night at Upper Canada Village, east of Morrisburg, has seen record crowds in the past week.

St. Lawrence Parks Commission spokeswoman Susan Le Clair said the attraction of Christmas lights has attracted over 18,000 visitors in seven days – Saturday (Dec. 5) had 5,600 alone.

Compare that to the 40,000 visitors to the winter lights festival over 22 nights last year.

The winter attraction has also been a romantic one with a number of engagements taking place over the last 15 years.
