Cornwall quarterback signs with Ottawa

CORNWALL – A Cornwall quarterback is taking the next step in his football career, signing with the Ottawa Gee-Gees.

Alex Douglas will be joining the team for next year’s Ontario University Athletes (OUA) season.

Douglas, at 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, told online publication Canada Football Chat that he had been approached by the school first in December 2014 and had been in contact with senior football staff since his second year of the OVFL.

The 17-year-old has been playing as pivot for the Cornwall Wildcats this season.

Clearing showing that he was a standout player, in April, Douglas was chosen to play in the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) Prospects Game in Hamilton in April.
