Man charged in Cornwall home invasion

CORNWALL – A Cornwall man has been charged, accused of breaking into a city home and threatening an occupant with a screwdriver.

Cornwall police said it happened early this morning (Monday) at a home on Danis Avenue and the suspect hid his identity while threatening the occupant.

The man left and was located by police a short distance away.

Police did not say what the nature of the threats were, what the man was looking for, or whether the perpetrator and the victim knew each other.

A 50-year-old Cornwall man is facing several charges.

The accused is no stranger to the law with a lengthy list of alleged criminal offences including theft of alcohol from a store on Second Street East in January as well as the theft of meat and cheese from a store in November 2014.
