Drunken ATV rider tries to flee police

SOUTH STORMONT – A man from South Glengarry is facing a number of charges, including flight from police, after officers tried to stop an all-terrain vehicle.

It happened on Cornwall Centre Road around 10:45 p.m. last night (Tuesday).

SD&G O.P.P. say they stopped the ATV and realized the adult male driver was drunk, before the rider attempted to flee officers.

He was caught after a short chase.

A 30-year-old man from South Glengarry is charged with having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood, driving while impaired and flight from police.

He was released and will appear in a Cornwall court next month.
