SOUTH STORMONT – A couple drivers in the township had their vehicles impounded over the weekend for excessive speeding.
SD&G O.P.P. officers stopped the drivers – a 32-year-old from Paris, France and a 21-year-old from South Stormont – on Saturday and Sunday respectively on Highway 401.
The driver from France was allegedly going 155 kilometers an hour while the South Stormont motorist was going 162 kilometers an hour.
Both drivers had their licences suspended for a week and their vehicles impounded for the same amount of time under Ontario’s Street Racing Law.
