Two killed in motorcycle crash near Winchester

WINCHESTER – Two people on a motorcycle have died following a collision with a van on a road northwest of here.

SD&G O.P.P. were called to Belmeade Road around 8 pm. tonight (Aug. 13) following the collision.

The adult male driver and an adult female passenger on the bike died at the scene.

The adult male driver of the van was not injured, however, his male passenger was treated for minor injuries.

No names have been released as next of kin are being notified.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Belmeade Road is a two-lane paved road about 12 kilometers northwest of Winchester.

This is the second fatal crash involving a motorcycle this summer in North Dundas.

A biker died last month after a collision with an SUV at the intersection of County Roads 43 and 7 near Chesterville.

In that case, the SUV driver was charged with failing to yield.
