CORNWALL – A Long Sault defenceman will be wearing the “C” for the Cornwall River Kings this upcoming season.
The LNAH team announced Monday, Brennan Barker will be the team captain, taking over for Steve Simoes, who retired after last season.
“I known I have big shoes to fill,” said the 30-year-old. “It’s very exciting going forward with the stability in place to build on what we did last year in the playoffs,” Brennan added.
Rick Lalonde will be behind the bench this season, serving as both the GM and head coach.
Lalonde cut his coaching duties with the St. Jerome Jr. AAA team to focus on the River Kings this year.
