CORNWALL – Hospital officials will learn tonight whether Cornwall’s main health care building has generated another surplus.

The CCH annual general meeting starts at 7 p.m. tonight (Thursday) in the auditorium at the facility at 840 McConnell Avenue.

If staff have been able to reign in spending and kept costs down, it would be the fourth surplus in a row.

CCH ended the 2014 fiscal year (ending March 31, 2014) with a $16,011 surplus. The hospital had revenue (including 68 per cent provincial funding) of $118,430,816 and expenses of $118,414,805 (67 per cent in compensation).

The previous fiscal years saw surpluses of $246,000 (2013) and $74,000 (2012) respectively.

CCH also saw 58,687 emergency room visits last year.
