CHESTERVILLE – Police have identified the victim in a head-on crash between a car and a dump truck on Boyne Road Thursday.
SD&G O.P.P. say Carmel Donn Smirl, 83, from North Stormont died when his car, for reasons still under investigation, collided head-on with a dump truck.
Smirl was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the dump truck, a 61-year-old man from South Dundas, was treated for minor injuries at hospital.
A section of Boyne Road was closed to traffic most of Thursday afternoon but reopened just after 7 p.m.
