Camm takes Jacques Richard Trophy

CORNWALL – The top sports personality of the year went all the way to the Brier and is now being recognized at home.

Mathew Camm received the Jacques Richard Trophy last night during the 51st Benson Cornwall Lions Club Sports Awards Dinner at the Best Western.

That was in addition to being named Curler of the Year – a title he received last year as well.

The 24-year-old Rockland native plays in the Wednesday night men’s league at the Cornwall Curling Center.

He represented the Ontario squad, playing third on the team skipped by Mark Kean. The team ended up 5-6 at the Brier.

The guest speaker was “The Coach” Tim Cunningham – a Kingston university men’s hockey team coach turned sports radio talk show host.
