CORNWALL – After enjoying one of the busiest years in construction in 2014, the number of building permits issued in the city slipped in the first three months of the year.

Numbers issued by the city’s building department show 79 permits were issued for the period of January through March for $12.4 million on construction work.

During the same period last year there were 93 permits for $16.3 million in work.

A big portion of the 2015 value of building is one permit in March for $7.5 million to build Dominion Place at 3 Second Street East.

In addition to the Dominion Place permit in March, permits for six homes were issued – for three single-family homes on Arba Court, one Lourdes Street and a couple of multi-unit homes on Tremblay Avenue.
