NORTH DUNDAS – An Ottawa trucker escaped with minor injuries after his tractor trailer went off County Road 31 and into Hess Creek Monday night.
Provincial police were called to the single vehicle accident around 8:30 p.m.
Investigators are still trying to determine how the 65-year-old managed to lose control of the truck before it became partially submerged in the creek.
He was treated at hospital for his injuries, which are said to be minor.
A section of County Road 31 from County Road 7 to County Road 43 was closed for several hours last night and had to be closed again late Tuesday morning to allow cleanup crews to salvage the truck.
The highway was reopened just before 3 p.m.
