LEDYARD, Conn. – Tony “Lightning” Luis has added another victory to his boxing career, defeating Karl “Dynamite” Dargan Friday night at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino.
The ten round verdict was scored 99-90 and 97-92 twice for Luis.
Luis was able to set the pace of the fight and outwork Dargan, leaving him to never be able to establish his job.
A number of times Luis was able to pin his opponent against the ropes, giving him left hooks and right jabs to the body and head.
This is Dargan’s first career defeat.
Luis is now the Continental Americas Lightweight title holder.
Luis holds a title of 19-2 with seven knockouts while Dargan has a 17-1 title with nine knockouts.
The fight was broadcast on ESPN Friday Night fights and on TSN in Canada.
