CORNWALL – Cornwall police have arrested a man in connection to a string a violent robberies in the city.
Investigators had been looking into six separate robberies on Dec. 16, Jan. 13 and Jan.14.
The man allegedly went into five local businesses while wearing a disguise and demanded and got money before fleeing the scene.
In two cases, a hammer and a steel pipe was used to intimidate the victims.
The sixth case involved robbing a taxi cab driver.
Some of the businesses targeted included a hair salon, a gas bar, a tanning salon and a convenience store.
The suspect was arrested Wednesday during a traffic stop shortly after a clothing store was robbed.
John Pecore, 32, of Cornwall is facing 28 charges including robbery, disguise with intent, robbery with a weapon and assault with a weapon.
He is appearing in a Cornwall court today (Friday) for a bail hearing.
