CORNWALL – A portion of Pitt Street in the north end of the city will be closed until early this afternoon (Friday) after a car hit a hydro pole.
Cornwall Police Const. Dan Cloutier says the driver was treated for minor injuries after the mishap around 8:30 a.m. this morning.
However, there’s enough damage to the pole that it’s a safety issue for traffic and Cornwall Electric workers need to replace it.
A section of Pitt Street is closed from roughly Mercier Avenue to Cornwall Centre Road and will remain that way until early this afternoon.
Detours are in place.
