CORNWALL – After more than three decades on the job, Cornwall Fire Chief Richard McCullough is retiring.

The city announced Friday that McCullough’s last day will be April 30, 2015.

McCullough started in 1980 and has held every rank in the fire service, mostly recently as fire chief in 2013.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Cornwall Fire Department and I am fortunate to have worked with a great group of individuals over the years, both in the fire service and within other city departments,” said McCullough.

While McCullough’s final day is in April he may stay on to help with the transition for a new fire chief, if needed.

The city will now go through a selection process to find a new chief.
