CORNWALL – An SD&G O.P.P. officer just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
City police allege a Cornwall man, 37, was arguing with his girlfriend on Montreal Road on Sunday when he pulled her hair and threw her to the ground.
The provincial police officer happened to be driving by and stopped and arrested the suspect.
City police showed up shortly after and took the suspect to police headquarters, where he was charged with assault and held for a bail hearing.
The man’s name is not being released to protect the victim’s identity.
