River Kings drop close game to Riviere-du-Loup

CORNWALL – The Cornwall River Kings dropped a 3-2 decision to the visiting Riviere-du-Loup 3L on Saturday night.

The River Kings tried to tie the game in the final minutes but were not able to capitalize on 3L goaltender Louis Menard.

Sylvain Deschatelets – a former Akwesasne Warriors player – scored the eventual game-winning goal.

There were a reported 1,522 fans at the Civic Complex to see the first home game under new owner Steve Moreau, who was introduced in a red-carpet ceremony.

The River Kings play again with back-to-back home games Friday and Saturday when they host St-Georges and Thetford Mines.
