Water shutdown, boil order Monday for Glen Walter

GLEN WALTER – Residents in Glen Walter will be somewhat inconvenienced Monday when the water is shut off to the village.

The Township of South Glengarry is making repairs to the main water distribution line and will shut the water off for roughly five hours, starting at 8 p.m.

Once the water is back on, as a precaution, the township has issued a boil water advisory until test results come back from the health unit.

Residents are encouraged to bring their water to a full rolling boil for at least one minute or use an alternate water source, such as bottled water.

The township will let the public know when the boil water advisory is lifted through its website and on the portable sign at the water plant.
