More high winds, rain Monday night: Environment Canada

SD&G – Weather experts are saying we should brace for more high wind and downpours Monday night.

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement at 5:20 p.m. saying a deep low pressure system over Northwestern Quebec will bring 15-25 millimeters of rain and maybe a rumble of thunder.

The sharp cold front will be preceded by strong winds with gusts of 80 and 90 km/h, which could make for difficult driving where strong cross winds could be expected.

While the rest of the province will plunge below freezing after the system passes, Eastern Ontario may be the warm spot in the province with the temperature slightly above freezing.
