Man caught thieving from vehicles in Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA – Provincial police have charged a North Glengarry man after several vehicle owners has personal property stolen in Alexandria.

SD&G O.P.P. received a complaint just after 9 a.m. Wednesday morning that items, such as loose change and a GPS, were taken from cars and trucks on Centre Street.

Police arrested a man shortly after and also seized marijuana and prescription pain killers.

A 28-year-old from North Glengarry is facing four counts of theft, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He was held with an appearance scheduled today in Cornwall bail court.
