SOUTH STORMONT – Provincial police caught a drunk driver in South Stormont but not in the way you would usually expect.
Township firefighters were called just before 1 a.m for a vehicle fire on Highway 138.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle safely and firefighters were able to put out the blaze.
But then an officer on scene learned the female driver had been drinking and she was arrested.
A 22-year-old woman from North Stormont is facing charges including driving while impaired and three counts of failing to comply with court imposed conditions.
She was held for a bail hearing in Cornwall today.
