SD&G – The SD&G County Library system is in the running for a provincial award.

The library announced this week it’s been shortlisted for the Minister’s Award for Innovation for its Pop Up Library initiative.

The project brought the library from behind the walls of its various SD&G branches and into community at various events, where people could sign up for a library card or experience the eBook display.

The library says, during the first year of the project, they spoke to over 500 people and signed up 97 new members.

The winners of the Public Library Service Awards will be announced during the Ontario Library Association Super Conference in January.
