Pot production home busted

LONG SAULT – Provincial police have shut down a marijuana production house just north of Long Sault and have made two arrests.

SD&G O.P.P. along with members of the O.P.P. Drug Enforcement Unit of Project Paradigm searched a home on Losey Road (just west of Avonmore Road on the north side of Highway 401) on Friday morning around 8:40 a.m.

Police say they seized 30 marijuana plants, 3 lbs. of marijuana bud, 15 lbs. of marijuana shake, 12 grams of hash and one gram of cannabis resin as well as production equipment.

O.P.P. say the estimated street value of is $38,165.

A 51-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were arrested at the home and charged with possession and production of a controlled substance.

The woman was released with a promise to appear in court in December. The man has been held for a bail hearing today in Cornwall.
