Traffic violation uncovers $22K in pot: O.P.P.

SOUTH DUNDAS, Ont. – A driving infraction ended up uncovering a large amount of marijuana. O.P.P. say one of their officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 401 in South Dundas last night around 8 p.m. They found 2,256 grams (nearly 5 lbs.) of marijuana as well as an undisclosed amount of cash in the vehicle. Police say the estimated street value of the drugs is $22,000. A 30-year-old man from Mississauga is charged with drug possession, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. He was released with a promise to appear in a Morrisburg court on October 28, 2014.
