WINCHESTER – The Winchester District Memorial Hospital has welcomed its first baby of the new year.

Ruby Bergeron actually came about 42 hours after the new year, as her mother gave birth at 6:13 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 2.

This is the third child for Selena and Marc Bergeron of Vars.

They had their previous two children – Cora and Elliot – also at WDMH and all in the month of January. Cora is almost five and Elliot is approaching two.

“We’ll be having three birthday parties in the same month which should be pretty fun,” Selena said.

The Bergerons say they love the Winchester hospital for its cozy atmosphere and exceptional care.

As for the Cornwall Community Hospital, there was a New Year baby but there won’t be any information released publicly due to “compassionate and privacy reasons.”

“Unfortunately, we are unable to share information regarding the New Year’s Baby at CCH this year,” spokesman Taylor Campbell said in an email to Cornwall Newswatch.

It’s the first time in recent memory the Cornwall hospital hasn’t been able to share news celebrating the arrival of a newborn to start the year.
