CORNWALL – A Cornwall woman has cleared the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s insider win process and has won $800,000.

Erin Taylor won the chance to spin a wheel at the OLG Prize Center on Friday after playing The Bigger Spin – a $10 scratch lottery ticket.

The ticket gives players several ways of winning. First through an instant scratch, a “spin” on the video lottery terminal in the store where prizes of $20 to $150,000 are awarded.

The video terminal also gives out a bigger spin prize, which Taylor won, for a chance to spin the big wheel – like the Price is Right – for a guaranteed prize of $500,000 to $1 million.

Because Taylor’s spouse works at an OLG authorized retailer, she had to go through a 30 day review and validation process that lasted from Oct. 27 to Nov. 27.

Lottery claims of more than $10,000 are subject to the insider win process, to make sure there are no additional claims to a prize.

The winning ticket was bought at the Esso station on Marleau Avenue.

Taylor plans to put a lot of the money away for her retirement, as well as do some renovations and splurge a little with a new purse.
