SD&G – Provincial police say they intercepted nine “high-end” stolen vehicles driven on Highway 401 through SD&G in the last two weeks.

Police say officers on patrol have used “keen observation skills” and “investigative techniques” in order to catch them between Oct. 17 and Oct. 30.

Eight adults – many in their late teens or 20s – and three youths are facing various criminal charges.

With the exception of one person from the Barrie area, all of the adults are from various municipalities in Quebec.

In many cases, the local officers had to call in the OPP Emergency Response Team and the canine unit to make arrests.
